Video: Ace Ankomah’s classic performance at his 50th birthday

If you know Kojo Annan Ankomah very well, you will know that apart from being an exceptional legal brain, he is also a remarkable musician.

Popularly known as Ace Ankomah, his music prowess is manifested in the popular music group Joyful Way Incorporated.

M Ankomah composed ‘Barima Yesu,’ a hit song released in 1996 and has been with the group since 1979.

Not to scare you, Ace Anan Ankomah graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon (LL.B., 1990), attended the Ghana Law School (Q.C.L, 1992) and Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada (LL.M., 1994).

He is a recipient: Legon Hall Exhibition Award, 1988; Law Students’ Union, the Ghana Bar Association Prize for Outstanding Academic Performance, 1991. He also received the Queen’s Dean of Graduate Studies and Queen’s Graduate Awards, 1993-1994.

He was a Senior Lecturer in Civil Litigation at the Ghana School of Law from 2005-2012 and has since leaving law school worked with Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah (BELA), a well-respected law firm, numbered among the heavyweights in Ghana.

Now back to music. When he turned 50 on November 20, the legal practitioner got busy entertaining guests at his birthday to his musical skills.

Clad in an all-white apparel, the dress code for the birthday celebration, the legal practitioner, with the support of a band, performed and sung praises to God.

In a video he shared on Facebook, Ace Ankomah said, “You, O Lord, have caused lines to truly fall for me in pleasant places and given me a goodly heritage.

“Wo nim neɛ eye ma me, na wo yɛ neɛ eye ma me. Me da wo ase. And to all who wished me well, me da mo nyinaa nso ase. #MyYadah
